The Bovine Frozen Semen Supply Chain Management System (BFSS) is an online system developed to support the management and monitoring of frozen semen straws from production centres through distribution centres, districts and veterinary institutions. The system helps improve data availability, stock visibility, monitoring and decision making.

2. Navigating the BFSS System

Use the navigation menu provided in the portal header to access the features and services available according to your user role.

• Dashboard: View important system information and stock-related summaries.
• Stock Management: Record, monitor and manage frozen semen stock movements.
• Reports: View or generate reports related to production, distribution and stock.
• User Account: Access features and information permitted for your assigned role.

3. Frozen Semen Stock Management

The BFSS system supports tracking of frozen semen straws across different levels of the supply chain. Users should ensure that stock receipts, transfers, issues and balances are entered accurately and updated on time.

• Production Centres: Record production and availability of frozen semen straws.
• Distribution Centres: Manage receipt and onward distribution of stock.
• District Level: Monitor stock received and distributed within the district.
• Veterinary Institutions: Record and monitor stock used for artificial insemination services.

4. Data Entry Guidelines

Accurate and timely data entry is important for effective supply chain monitoring and decision making. Before submitting information, verify the stock quantity, transaction details and destination information.

• Enter information only for the transaction or stock movement being recorded.
• Check quantities carefully before submitting the transaction.
• Do not share your user ID or password with other users.
• Report incorrect or duplicate transactions to the designated system administrator.
